The Monster Shoe Factory is out: a note from the showrunner
The Monster Library releases The Monster Shoe Factory, an original animated film co-produced with Showrunner and streaming on Showrunner TV. Watch the full film and hear from the showrunner.
Why this story
The Monster Shoe Factory started with a simple question: what happens when a strange little crew of monsters puts their whole heart into making something for someone else? The answer became a film about kindness, craft and the unexpected friends we meet along the way.
As showrunner, my job was to protect that feeling through every stage, from the first character sketches to the final frame. Every monster on the factory floor needed to feel like someone you would want to sit next to.
Co-produced with Showrunner
The Monster Shoe Factory was co-produced with Showrunner, the AI television platform, and will stream on Showrunner TV. It is a natural home for the film: a place built for new kinds of animated storytelling, where original characters and worlds can find their audience.
The film was built the same way we build every Monster Library world: characters first. We designed the cast, locked their personalities and silhouettes, then let the story grow from how they would actually behave together.
Our pipeline blends traditional character design and storytelling with AI-assisted animation, which lets a small studio move quickly while keeping a consistent, handcrafted look across every scene.
